ConnectONEとは？/ What is ConnectONE?
ConnectONEとは 名前のとおり様々な規格のシステムを一つ（ONE）に繋ぐ（Connect）ことを目的としたソフトウェアです。
ConnectONEは、複数のConnectorと呼ばれるモジュールから成り立ちます。Connectorは、接続すべき各システムに、各システムのプロトコルで、接続を要求したユーザーの権限でアクセスします。各システムに対しては、ConnectONEは完全にそれぞれのクライアントソフトとして振る舞います。
Connectorで取得された各データは、ConnectONE内では等価なデータとして扱われます。たとえばExchangeとNotesのメール、スケジュール、アドレス帳は全く異なるデータ形式ですが、ConnectONE内では変換され全く等価なデータとなります。このデータの取り扱いはConnectONEの最も特長的な点の一つです。各システムを結ぶハブとしての機能こそがConnectONEのコンセプトだからです。
ConnectONE内で等価として扱われるデータは、ユーザーのリクエストに応じて再構築されます。ConnectONEの用途として最も利用されているのが各端末のブラウザに応じたHTMLに変換されるケースです。各端末ブラウザに適したテンプレートに沿って、HTMLページが構築されます。このデータを表示のために再構築するモジュールをUIと呼びます。
UIはHTMLを構築するだけでなく、クライアントが求める形式（たとえばXML）でデータを渡すこともできます。一度等価データとして変換されているため、データの再構築は容易に行えることも、ConnectONEの重要な特長の一つです。
－ As the name shows, it is software that “connects” various systems based on different standards into “ONE.”
ConnectONE consists of multiple modules called “Connectors.” A Connector accesses each system to be connected, using the protocol of the system with the privilege of the user requesting the connection. For each system, ConnectONE completely behaves as client software of the system.
Each data retrieved by the Connector are treated as equivalent data in ConnectONE. For example, although the data formats of email, scheduling, and address book of Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange are completely different, the data will be entirely converted into equivalent data format in ConnectONE. Such data handling is one of the unique features of ConnectONE, because playing a role as a hub that links every system is the key concept of ConnectONE.
The data treated as equivalent in ConnectONE are rebuilt based on the user's request. The most common use of ConnectONE is to convert the data to HTML suitable to the browser of each device. HTML pages are built in line with the template for each device browser. The module that rebuilds the data for display is called “UI.”
UI can not only build HTML but also pass the data in the format required by the client (e.g. XML). Once the data is converted into an equivalent one, the data reconstruction is easy to be done. This is another key feature of ConnectONE.
ConnectONEはこのハブ構想という設計思想により、各機能モジュールが独立した構造を持っています。これにより非常に高い外部システムの連携性を実現しています。ConnectONEがパッケージ製品でありながら、柔軟なカスタマイズ性やエンタープライズ拡張性を持っている理由です。また同様に他社の製品やサービスと容易に組み合わせることができます。これによりセキュリティやユーザビリティの上で、ユーザーの選択肢が増えるとともに、提携パートナー様に対してConnectONEを通してより多くのビジネスチャンスを提供させて頂いております。
2010年11月時点では、社内システムへのConnectorは、「Exchange-WebDAV」「Exchange Web-Service」「Notes」「NotesDB」「POP-SMTP」「HTTP」の6種類がリリースされています。今後もConnectorの種類が増えていくことによりハブモデルとしてのConnectONEの性格が明確になっていくことでしょう。
現時点では携帯端末と社内システムを接続する製品がメインとなっていますが、将来的には、企業間のシステム連携や、ハブモデルを更に発展させたアメーバモデル（各システムがConnectONEプロトコルを内在する）への発展を構想しています。これらの構想を私たちはEIIS（Enterprise Information Integration System）と呼んでいます。
ConnectONE has a structure composed of independent functional modules, according to this hub-like design concept. It realizes very strong linkages with external systems. This is the reason why ConnectONE has flexible customizability and enterprise scalability, even though it is a packaged product. It can also be easily combined with products and services provided by other companies. Consequently, users will have more choices in respect of security and usability, and we give our affiliate partners more business opportunities through ConnectONE.
As of November 2010, six types of Connector for corporate system have been released; "Exchange-WebDAV", "Exchange Web-Service", "Notes", "NotesDB", "POP-SMTP", and "HTTP." By increasing the types of Connector, the characteristics of ConnectONE as a hub will become clear in the future.
At present, our core products are those that connect internal system and mobile devices. However, we are planning to develop system integration between companies as well as to develop an amebic model, which is the advanced one of hub model where each system contains ConnectONE protocol. We call these concepts as EIIS (Enterprise Information Integration System).
ConnectONEの実績/ Actual Performance of ConnectONE
2007年2月にパッケージとしてリリースして、2010年11月現在で5万人を越えるユーザーにお使い頂いております。その約90％が1000ユーザー以上の大規模の企業ユースです。これはConnectONEの拡張可変性が、冗長化などの大規模システムや、カスタマイズなどに適していることを示します。また国内の主要メーカー系ベンダー２社にOEMとしてConnectONEモジュールを提供しています。これはConnectONEの品質とサポート力の高さを示しています。
ConnectONE was released in February 2007 as a package and has been used by more than 50,000 users as of November 2010. About 90 percent of users are using ConnectONE under the licenses for large enterprise customers. This indicates that the scalability of ConnectONE is suitable for redundant large-scale system and customization. We are also providing ConnectONE modules as OEM to two vendors which are subsidiary of the Japanese major manufacturers. This proves high quality and supportability of ConnectONE.
